Featuring well-known acts like Victoria Kimani, Cynthia Morgan, Styl-Plus andBurna Boy while giving the spotlight to less-known acts like Hot Ice on Dirty, Odysseus is a project that not only gives the audience a taste of Jagz depth with lyrics but also an insight into his creative spirit and his love for featuring sounds that have stood the test of time in fusion with his.

Runtown & Nasty C – “Said”
Nothing screams a HIT like fusion. In just one of the many perfect matches to come, Nasty C and Runtown merge talent and hard work in one of the first release from the studios of Coke Africa.

The Young King Nasty brings his gift with words to play with the Nigerian Mad Over You crooner and together, trust them to Run your Town with the brand new track ‘Said’.

Amanda Black & Joey B take us on a round trip from SA to GH and back and then again in their new single ‘Round & Round’ off the Coke Studio Africa 2017 edition.

Produced by Gospelonthebeatz-who gives the track a mix of Afrobeats, Highlife and a coastal feel Round and Round is an explosion of SA’s Amanda’s incredible vocal strengths and flow in a perfect mix with Ghana’s Joey B’s delivery of story telling he has become known and loved for.

L-Tido – “Moto” ft Eminent Fam
L-Tido is finally ready to own the summer! Following hot on the heels of ‘Thixo’ (featuring AKA and Yanga), the ‘Dlala ka yona‘ crooner has cooked up a smash single for the summer period featuring young kids on the block Eminent Fam.

‘Moto’ is a vibey dance record that draws its groove from a mix of House and Afro rhythms with a catchy hook and easily memorable raps. One for the dance-floor and the radio waves!

In the spirit of African fusion, South Africa teams up with Angola in an R&B / Deep House blend.

Trio group Mi Casa beautifully represent SA with their set ability to serenade you while getting you to groove. The result of this marriage with Angola’s sexy smooth vocalistAnselmo Ralph and Masterkraft’s unmatched skills with the beats is ‘You Make Me Wanna’. A clean hit!

NewAgeMuzik – “Brown Skin” ft Bace

British Nigerian duo NewAgeMuzik are back with their brand new single titled ‘Brown Skin’; a glorious slow-building Afro-infused R&B offering, with explosive drum ‘n’ bass instrumentals held together excellently by Kamo and Prince’s infectious vocals and captivating flows.

Produced by Dami Bones (Wande Coal, Moelogo, 9ice) and engineered by Tobi Notch(Bonkaz, Baseman, Mazi Chukz), ‘Brown Skin’ features up and coming UK act Bace.

Speaking about the inspiration for ‘Brown Skin’, NewAgeMuzik say, “the song was created simply for the ladies, and is specially catered to black women, hence the name ‘Brown Skin’, but we also wanted to send a very conscious message to uplift our black women – they are ‘righteous’ despite how society tries to bring them down, and we have to protect and appreciate them at all times”.

Talking further, the duo added that, “we never hear enough songs that boasted about our black women, so we made one, plus we want the message of ‘Brown Skin’ to be an antithesis to the countless stories of hatred and violence towards our black women that have flooded the news this year. We wanted to record a song dedicated to the ‘brown skin girl’, and appreciate what makes them so unique and beautiful”.

Following his first single under chocolate city ‘Cheers’ which has very quickly become a weekend anthem, Yung L drops ‘Gbewa’ which literally translates to ‘come and take’ in Yoruba (one of Nigeria’s official languages).

Gbewa is a mellow track with some highlife influence topped with the new wave of Afrobeats & a hint of dance music.

The track is also a build up to his next body of work which he calls ‘Better Late Than Never’

Also produced by Gospelonthebeatz, Come back is a cultural mix in many ways than one; language and sound.

Ivorian Hip-hop group teams up with Madagascan act in a classic African love story gone wrong. Kiff no beat lends the track a certain sexiness with the French lyrics blending withWawa Salegy‘s Caribbean feel.

As it the MO of Coke Studio Africa, another collaboration that marries two African genres is delivered! This time Mauritius & Ethiopia are represented by Laura Beg & Sami Danrespectively.

In a fusion of reggae and dance music, ‘Big Up Yourself’ is the perfect example of ‘positive vibes only’ music!

Multi award winning African band from Kenyan; Sauti Sol kick off their Europe tour in Germany; tonight (8th Friday) Berlin and then Köln Germany on the 9th (Saturday).

The group will follow this with a show in Brussels, Belguim on the 15th of Septemeber.
