Performing a style of music that would conventionally be categorized as rap, Mx Blouse has an energy onstage, in-studio and in person that is undeniably captivating.

Moving with precision, they are building up to their next body of work with the latest hip dance joint called ‘No Match’.

 


Blown! Straight through the roof!2018 saw the Nigerian born rapper release Bad Boy Blaq under 100 Crowns – hip-hop label affiliated with Chocolate City Records, his debut album which proved to be one of the most successful debut hip-hop releases for the year in that region on various levels.

Fast forward to 2019, Blaqbonez shows no signs of slowing down and has just released a fresh project termed ‘Bad Boy Blaq Re-Up‘ with remixes from the original project and fresh singles. The Album features YCee, Moelogo, Dremo, Vector, Ckay, BOJ, PrettyBoyDo and Psycho YP.

If his musical capabilities, the support from a vast audience & the industry’s movers and shakers don’t make him a force to be reckoned with by the end of 2019, his consistently creative methods to sell himself certainly will.

 


Welcome to Ghana!Rapping mostly in Fante, Pappy Kojo struck gold alongside Guilty Beatz, Mr Eazi and Patapaa when they made Akwaaba, which has raked in over 13.4Million streams on the audio & visuals on YouTube alone.

In 2019? He’s figured out his Balance early on with his latest and viral single featuring Joey B & Nshona Muzik ahead of his debut EP ‘Logos II‘ which will feature Sarkodie, Spacely, Kofi Kinaata, Guilty Beatz & more.

This will precede a joint E.P with Medikal and another solo project which will feature Bisa Kdei and Joey B amongst others.

Beginning her career on the maiden stages of The Voice Afrique Francophone, the singer who is also a model has consistently built her profile and presence, with tracks like Kidding Kidding ft Admow, her most recent single Sébalité and incoming EP SAHH.

Sharing the first single ‘The Highest‘ off the project, Aida gives us a melodic taste of what’s to come.

 


Hip-hop in South Africa is a pool of cultures and The Big Hash plans on making a huge splash this year.

2018 saw the rapper – a part of Innanetwav, win the hearts and respect of music lovers across the country with his series of releases including Dark Horse ft Riky Rick and Outcast ft A-Reece & Flame amongst others.

His ability to create vibes ahead of the trend in Nigeria gave him his first viral hit Container.

Towards the end of 2017 in a sleek response to an industry saga, he released a mixtape ‘Who The F*ck Is Ckay‘.  A classic show of his capabilities as a producer and a musician, the EP featured Bella Alubo, Dice Ailes.

The multi-talented act is expected to release his debut E.P in the coming months. Ckay The First which will feature the likes of B.O.J, Blaqbonez and more.

 


Just announced as Deezer’s NEXT, South African music duo Easy Freak, have begun their year on a high!

Their journey officially began in 2017 when the group (Dom & Jude), released their debut album I’m Alright featuring acts like Kaien Cruz, Red Robyn and more.

2018 was a steady year of growth for Easy Freak, first, moving all operations to Johannesburg, then playing at huge festivals like Oppikoppi, Bush Fire and Mieliepop, sharing stages with Damian Marley, Sho Madjozi, Mi Casa, Riky Rick and more to working with top brands like Ray-Ban and H& M.

Building up to their sophomore album No Lies in May this year which is expected to feature Darkie Fiction, Muzi, Robin Thirdfloor & more, the duo will be playing on some of SA’s biggest stages like the 947 Joburg Day and Kirstenbosch.

 


A voice and presence that cannot be boxed.

Stepping out of the shadows as featured vocalist, Astryd Brown is South Africa’s new hip-hop & R&B gem waiting to shine.

Working with Playground Productions – home to Yung Swiss & Ricky Tyler, this singer is a refreshing blend of classic R&B with a trap-like vibe.

Singles like Four ft Yung Swiss & Lately ft Nadia Nakia are clear examples of what we can expect from Ms Brown in 2019.

Word on the street? A rich body of work in the form of an E.P in the pipelines.

A producer, performing & recording artist from Nigeria, OBT surrounds himself with some of the most creative minds and has his focus set on building on a solid foundation for what we foresee will be a long career.

Hitting the ground running in 2019 with the character filled visuals for his latest single Medasi, OBT is set to flood the year with great content like the UP freestyle.

Working as a production duo (FAC-3) alongside Deyon Agoi, OBT produced Wonder Tha Hype Man’s single In My Mind, which premiered on Beats1 radio.

 


 

The people’s champ with the truth!

Using lines to touch on his truth in tracks like 5Grand, Award Shows, The Procedure, Just A Mil  and the viral tribute to the late Winnie Mandela in  Letter To You, Touchline won the hearts of many with his rhythm, charm and perhaps most importantly, the stories he tells so clearly in his verses.

In 2018, the Tembisa born rapper went round the mixtape block twice with the release of S.O.O.N (Something Out Of Nothing) – a compilation of freestyles on some of his favourite instrumentals and 18 FLow.

2019 is off to a very deserving high start, with Touchline taking home Viewer’s Choice in Slikour’s Verse Of The Year Awards celebration and the release of the video for ‘Award Shows‘.
