The annual Chale Wote Street Art Festival took place in Ghana’s Capital, Accra at the end of last month. The streets of James Town turned into an excited sea of people, some performing music with intricate rhythms and wandering melodies, others holding talks and community workshops whilst the constant smell of fresh paint and spray cans was drifting in around the bystanders.

James Town is also renown for its history of Boxing, the youngsters are taught the basics and are encouraged to spar from a young age.

You will find a mixture of collaborations taking place at Chale Wote festival, here is a prime example of a group of graffiti artists working together to renovate and bring back to life the side of this hotel.
