Drew Moyo – “Vimbuza”
Norway based Malawian Dance/Electronic act; Drew Moyo teams up with Beating Heart; the World’s largest archive of Africa’s field recordings- on his new body of work ‘Vimbuza’.One of the tracks off ‘Chingoma’ which was sampled after an archival field recording is a favourite of the artist and he explains that ‘Chingoma’ is a drum played specifically by the Tonga people in a part of Malawi when they gather for the Spiritual ritual of the Vimbuza dance.

The proceeds from Vimbuza will be used to support the Women’s Legal Centre in Cape Town and Jo’burg and the AMP music school in Grahamstown where equipment will be donated and a Beating Heart remix module would be developed where students can learn how to remix music from the archive, learning about their heritage in the process.

Now that’s music for a cause!


Dream Team- “Level Up”
South African Hip-Hop Trio; DreamTeam, release their first body of Work in 2017 and they are ‘Levelling Up’ the Hip-Hop grounds with it.The 8 tracked EP titled ‘Level Up’ features the likes of Okmalumkoolkat in what is a representation of their journey as a group thus far.

The Trio have worked with a number of African acts including Anatii, AKA and Ice Prince and have recorded huge success with singles like singles like; Call Out andTskede 


Bemyoda- “Stark”
With 10 tracks that takes the listener on a sad, soulful, quirky and up beat sing along journey, Bemyoda seeks to further establish his sound and explore territories previously uncharted with his debut album ‘Strak’.Bemyoda bears huge similarities to Aleo Blacc, Asa and Bez in the delivery of his art. Featured on UK-Based Nataal magazine ‘ones to watch list for 2016’, Bemyoda is definitely one for your replay button.
