 Inspired by the soundscape of a pair of African cities, DJ Lambo unravels ‘A Tale of Two Cities’. The 7-tracker is quite the trip taking us from Lagos to Johannesburg as she exuberantly expresses in the title opener where she sets up to paint a picture of the distinctiveness that makes each city incredibly rich in terms of music.

 26 extraordinarily talented musicians from four countries come together for ‘Forest Jam Sessions 2014-2016‘. The result is a vibrant jazz alliance, including contributions from Madala KuneneLerato LichabaGontse Makhene and more.

The ensemble project features a fitting re-interpretation of the late Moses Taiwa Molelekwa’s ‘Wa Mpona’ on which his son Zoe Molelekwa plays the keys.

2Lee Stark is planning on dropping his debut album in October. Until then the South African rapper has two joints, ‘BOSS‘ and ‘Uyajola‘, for his fans to play on repeat.

The former is a feel-good while on your hustle joint while on the latter Stark shows his humorous side. ‘Uyajola’ features ReasonDraper & 2Loux.

Off their incoming collaborative project, Mawcom X & Kuvie share a second single ‘Mawuli‘.

After the passing of his mother, Mawcom X, went through a dark period in his life. With the help of Kuvie, he channelled this energy into music and presents ‘Gift of God’. The title of the EP is layered with meaning the most obvious of which is showing gratitude for life. 

This body of work consists of five tracks appearances from the likes of BojKirani AyatIye as well as $pacely and drops on the 28th of August 2020.

1020 Cartel is South Africa’s new revelation.

1020 Cartel is a new indie label spearheaded by Ruff & Sjava. The stable’s first outing, ‘iSambulo‘, introduces the new talents, which include AnzoYallunderNue_Sam & Mzukulu,  on its roster. The album is richly steeped in traditional isiZulu music and oration while also borrowing influences from hip hop and afrosoul.

Nomalanga‘ by Mzukulu is the final chapter before ‘iSambulo’ launches next week on the 28th of August 2020.
