AFRIMMA 2015 Nominees playlist

The annual AFRIMMA (African Muzik Magazine Awards) will be taking place on the 10th October 2015 in Texas. Hosted by two of Africa’s favourite comedians, Basketmouth and Ann Kansime, this year’s awards promise to be a fabulous celebration of Africa’s top musicians. The voting lines are still open and to help you decide who you want to vote for, we have compiled a playlist of some of this year’s nominees.

1. Vanessa Mdee – Nobody but Me ft K.O

Vanessa Mdee lit up Africa with this fun, light track featuring South African rapper K.O, it’s no surprise that this amazing entertainer has been nominated in the Best Female East Africa category, as well as the Best Humanitarian Artist Category.

2. MzVee – Boroko Boroko ft V.I.P

The stunning Ghanaian songstress MzVee has been nominated in the Best Newcomer category after she burst onto the music scene with a bang and has been releasing hit after hit ever since. Check out her music video with the talented V.I.P below!

3. Sauti Sol – Isabella

Multi-award winning Kenyan Afro-pop group, Sauti Sol have been nominated in the Best African Group and Song of the Year categories. The group has been releasing splendid albums and singles since they made their debut in 2009. They have been previously nominated for the BET awards and have won an AFRIMMA before.

4. Wizkid – Show You The Money

Released in 2014, Wizkid’s album Ayo is still releasing hits even as we draw towards the end of 2015. Show You The Money, was one of the killer tracks that was released earlier this year. Since then, Wizkid has done some amazing things, including collaborating with Drake and Skepta. Wizkid has been nominated  in four categories at this year’s AFRIMMA.

5. Becca – Steady ft Ice Prince

Africa’s sweetheart, Becca has been nominated in the Best Female West Africa category. Steady which was released a few months back has been rocking the airwaves all over Africa, while Becca has been doing some extraordinary things. She was involved in the Global Goals campaign and was featured on the informative single ‘tell everybody’.
