Hot off the heels of the MAMAs weekend, the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) released a list of this year’s nominees and once again, we are proud to announce that five of our artists have been nominated in nine prestigious categories.

Tanzanian IT girl Vanessa Mdee has been nominated in two categories, Best Female East Africa and Best Humanitarian Artist. Jaguar who hails from Kenya has been nominated in the Best Male East Africa category while fellow Kenyan Victoria Kimani has been nominated in the Best Female East Africa category. Ghanaian songstress Becca has been nominated in the Best Female West Africa category.  Nigerian superstar Wizkid has been nominated in four categories, Best Male West Africa, Artist Of The Year, Video Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his hit Ojuelegba.

AFRIMMA aims to create a platform that promotes the diversity of African music by bringing all the stars together for a night of celebration. The awards are taking place in October and the countdown has already begun. Voting lines are open and you can get voting on the AFRIMMA website.
