 Beloved Nigerian artiste 2Baba and Falz team up for a motivational anthem entitled “Rise Up“. The song thematically speaks to some of the existing issues that were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. When brought closer to their home country, “Rise Up” also speaks to the mobilisation of people to fight against injustices such as the #EndSARS protests that made headlines in late 2020.

Kaylow – “Promises” (ft. K’zela & Stylish DJ)
 South Africa was rocked by looting sprees and unrest in two major provinces (KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng) following the arrest of former president Jacob Zuma. The partial cause of this is believed to be the inequalities faced by many of the nation’s people who live below the poverty line. Thus on “Promises“, Kaylow provides context to the events that occurred due to the brewing frustrations of marginalised South Africans.
