24 May Afro Fresh: Gemini Major, Silvastone, TNS, Mich Straaw, Mx Blouse & more.
Featuring; Team Mosha, K4mo, Easy Freak, Sat-B and more.
Within a space of a year, TNS has become a household name in South Africa with back-to-back hits with Prince Kaybee (‘Club Controller’, ‘Banomoya’) as well as his last single ‘My Dali’ making waves right now.
Well, this young KZN-born self-taught producer is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon as he follows suit with another catchy afro-house track – ‘Uzongilinga‘ ft. Fey.
One-half of afro swing outfit NewAgeMuzik – K4mo releases his self-titled EP that draws influences from his time in Nigeria.
The 3-tracked project is suitable for easy listening draped with melodies delivered in his unique gruff voice.
The release of the video also comes a call out from the star asking for young producers to put their best beat forward with the #MoveBodyRemixChallenge.
On their latest single, ‘Phuza Kahle‘, Mamelodi’s mighty twosome take on the subject of partying responsibly. The song features fellow Tshwane musicians Junior Taurus and Blaklez.
Mich Straaw
had quite a challenge this May as it was Mother’s Day two weeks ago and his mum celebrates her birthday on 25 May. Why not present her with the gift of music to celebrate her life with ‘255‘.Straaw has been hinting at this labour of love for a month with selected tracks. This body of work spans across a multitude of genres from R&B to hip-hop and even country.
El Maestro and TP are calling everyone to the dancefloor for this party-starting banger called ‘Bum Bum (Original Mix)‘.
The song is an amalgamation of genres, borrowing influences from ragga, afrobeats and amapiano. It would be hard not to move from the first beat.
Let the good times roll.
Gemini Major takes us back in time with the new video for his fun G-funk track ‘Issa Vibe’ featuring Tellaman. Filmed on the now iconic Pretville set, the video is nothing short of colourful.
This is the message that Gaba Cannal & Dladla Mshunqisi bring forth with ‘iGama‘.
The single is firmly rooted from a heated debate on which genre will dominate the summer, amapiano or gqom? The solution is both. Hence, ‘iGama’.
In this episode of ‘Level Up‘, Easy Freak lets us in on some of their wildest aspirations, the amount of work they put into the album and not forgetting the wackiness of it all during the process.
