Multi-talented Nigerian artist OBT premieres a track titled MIND. The song is a blend of R&B and afrobeats, and features soul singer MOON. OBT and MOON exhibit effortless musical talent on the mid-tempo track which serves as the summer’s a hit.
Sfarzo Rtee – “House of Sgija”
Sfarzo Rtee‘s House of Sgija honours sgija – a sub-genre of amapiano. The project consists of largely instrumentals with rattling basslines and percussion, made in the townships for the purists. The name implies that this is Sfarzo Rtee’s “home” and that he has become one of the faces of this distinctive sound.
Yanga YaYa has always had a strong inclination of creating “sad boy music.” His latest offering, Still Believe is inspired by his younger brother walking down the aisle. For Still Believe, Yanga YaYa views love through a less cynical lens.
As Silvastone continues to craft his upcoming project – Evolution – the muso presents another single off it. Silvastone describes Touch You as “a celebration of the many beautiful women especially around Africa. ThIs is one’s for you and your partner to really vibe to. Real close too.”

Nelz – “Emakudeni” (ft. Mnqobi Yazo & Musiholiq)
KZN-raised rapper Nelz returns with some brand spanking music. Emakudeni is her latest offering that will be part of an upcoming album which is slated for the last quarter of 2022. The record features Mnqobi Yazo and Muziholiq. Nelz explained that Emakudeni is an expression of her upbringing which has shaped the person she is today.
Tanzania’s newest rising talent, Platform TZ unveils his single Baby. The joint was produced by legendary producer, Abbah Process. Platform TZ released his debut EP at the end of last year which caught Abbah’s attention and subsequently earned him a deal under Abbah Music.

Chant Nation is a delightful amapiano tune that unites people in celebration of all facets of life. The DJ Michel record is a superbly constructed tune that works for any occasion or mood.
China Charmeleon & AndileAndy – “Brothers”
China Charmeleon and AndileAndy get ready to launch their forthcoming collaborative album titled Brothers. The 15-track body of work is a salute to the pair’s near decade-and-half friendship. China and Andile have contrasting and distinctive sounds; with China being mostly soul and jazz-influenced while Andile leans towards tech and electronic music. They have masterfully merged their creative minds for a cohesive project.
Brothers is due out on 22 July 2022.
