OBT – “Mora”
Last week, OBT presented two new singles and one of them now has visuals to accompany it. ‘Mora‘ is a rhythmic guitar strung highlife record about love at first sight. The lyric video rightfully captures the essence of the track.
The Big Hash, 808x & Kwesta – “High School”
The Big Hash unveils his first release since his birthday drop, ‘Life + Times II’. Proceeding with the themes of retrospection, he teams up with Innanetwav’s in-house producer, 808x, as well as hip-hop heavyweight, Kwesta on ‘High School’. On it, Hash reflects on his list of achievements ever since he dropped out secondary education.
45 Degrees – “Pinocchio Mode”
Tell no lies.
After the long wait, 45 Degrees awards his fans’ patience with his new offering ‘Pinocchio Mode‘. The EP tallies a total of six tracks, including a guest feature from Okmalumkoolkat.
Kid Fonque & Jonny Miller – “Output EP”
In May, Kid Fonque & Jonny Miller gave a teaser of what they had been working on when they drop their collaboration, ‘Somewhere‘, alongside Jaiden Veda. Today fans can enjoy the full ‘OutputEP‘ experience.
The 4-tracked record features vocal contributions by Toshi, ASAP Shembe and Sio.
Mink’s – “Sissiah” (ft. Kameni)
Love by the dime.
Cameroonian muso, Mink’s explores the role of materialism in a romantic relationship on ‘Sissiah‘. On the afrobeats-infused track, Mink’s features Kameni and he showcases his storytelling as he raps about a woman who prostitutes herself in order to be able to afford expensive gifts for her boyfriend.
Bain Turo – “Appelle Moi” (ft. Masterland)
Last week Friday, Empire Avenue’s rising sensation Bain Turo left a fiery trail with his blazing joint, ‘Appelle Moi‘. The Burundian star effectively got to work after its release and now has the official video to show for it.
‘Appelle Moi’ was produced by Masterland.
Khumz x Blxckie – “Blxck Panda”
Making use of one’s time during the lockdown seems to be a recurring them today. ‘Blxck Panda‘ is a collaborative album-lite by Durbanites Khumz & Blxckie. Through five songs, the pair display their versatility by drawing from a variety of musical influences.
‘The Blxck Panda’ features works alongside Trap Juice, Nana Atta and Floda Grae with production provided by Maximm and Goldmax.
Chop Life Crew – “Fakogbe” (ft. Tim Lyre & MOJO)
Chop Life Crew provides a principle lesson in the seduction of the rhythm on the alluring ‘Fakogbe‘. Produced by Tim Lyre the cut will be difficult to resist a bit of whining down. With additional vocals by MOJO, this has vibes written all over it.
For his latest outing, DJ Switch enlists a bevvy of fresh talents such as Robin Thirdfloor, Costa Titch and more on ‘Reset’. DJ Switch’s aim for the 10-tracker is to shine a spotlight on rising artists who contribute towards 90% of the featured artists.
Khenji – “Tell No Tales (TNT)”
Khenji’s first release for 2020 is explosive to say the least. ‘Tell No Tales (TNT)‘ is the lead single from Khenji’s forthcoming EP, ‘Astronomy Deluxe’. The delivery is hard-knocking, infectious and laden with punchlines.
Madala Kunene & Themba Mokoena – “Liyana-Imvula”
South African veteran guitarist, Madala Kunene & Themba Mokoena joined forces in 2019 for ‘Durban Poison – At Last!‘. Today they present a performance video of a song from the same album called ‘Liyana-Imvula’
Today marks the beginning of Navy Kenzo‘s campaign toward the lead-up to its sophomore album, ‘The Story of the Africa Mob‘. The duo announced the new release to expectant fans using a steady supply of trailers and teasers on their social media pages.
While we may be a long way from the official album drop on the 4th of September, Aika and Nahreel enlisted Nandy’s vocals for a new single titled ‘Bampa 2 Bampa‘.
Intr0beatz – “Sthembiso’s Way”
Stay True Sounds’ first international signing, Intr0beatz gears up for the release of his 7-tracked EP, ‘Sthembiso’s Way‘. This body of work is a reflection of the Icelandic producer’s trip to South Africa.
First on offer is ‘Load Shedding‘ before the full package is unveiled on the 14th of August 2020.
