The home of African music, Africori wins TikTok Viral Song of the Year plus two notable awards at #SAMA28.
This past weekend, 29 August 2022, the annual South African Music Awards took place at the famous Sun City Superbowl in the North West and on behalf of Africori we would like to congratulate the following artists for taking home the following awards:
- Tecno Music Video of the Year: Makhadzi featuring Prince Benza– Ghanama
- Best Hip-Hop Album: Blxckie – B4Now
- TikTok Viral Song of the Year: 9umba, Toss and Mdoovar – Umlando
9umba who celebrated his birthday in the week leading up to #SAMA28 excited expressed his gratitude for his first ever award stating: “I am so grateful to see our hard work get the recognition it deserves, Toss, Mdoovar and I all worked hard on the song and are all in awe of how much people loved the song and its dance challenge”.
